Introduction

Selecting "Media Player" as the role type allows administrators to launch media files (video) files on a continuous loop using the built in media player. Media files are chosen by using the drop-down "Playlist" menu. A variety of sample content is provided in this drop down list by default. In order to add new content to Playlist drop down, media files must be copied into /content/media/.

Station Mapping allows you to bind a specific station to a Virtual Machine clone.

  1. The first step is to create a Media Player profile. To do so, click on "Create a new Profile". Give the new profile a name, and then use the drop-down menu to select "Media Player" as the profile type.

  2. Choose a media file from the drop down menu.
    • All media files should be saved in /content/media folder; in order to appear in this list.

  3. Check inside or outside scaling checkbox as per the requirement.

  4. Map Stations to Media Player Profile

Once profile is created, stations can be "mapped" or assigned to profile by simply dragging-and-dropping the station icons to the media player profile.

To change the profile configuration (for example, to turn on/off inside and outside scaling ), click on the profile name to open the "Edit Profile" window.

Please Note: For running media files on VM stations, install VLC media player. For more info on file types supported by VLC, visit http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html.
