The most flexible and powerful session container is that of a Linux Desktop. Though rarely used for digital signage deployments this session can be mapped to any station on the host PC. By default, the host PC is mapped to this session container which can be used as a console to configure and manage the Userful solution.

Station Mapping: Creating a Linux Desktop Session

To create Session Container:

  1. Click on "New Session Container". Use the drop-down menu to select "Linux Desktop" as the session container type and give a session name.

  2. Select the session icon and click "OK" button

Map Stations to Linux Desktop

Once session container is created, stations can be "mapped" or assigned by simply dragging-and-dropping the station icons to the desired session container. The changes will take place after hitting "Apply" button.

To change the configuration (for example, to change the session name), click on the session container name to open the "Edit Session Container" window.
