From Userful Support
|
Note: Desktop Server™ was officially discontinued in July, 2007 and is no longer maintained. Desktop Server™ was originally developed as a reference platform for Userful Multiplier™ to make it easier for people not familiar with Linux to get started with Userful's multi-seat / multi-station software and experience full support for multi-station audio, USB keys, etc.. We have since simplified the installation of Userful Multiplier as well as adding audio and USB key support for three popular Linux Distros (Ubuntu, SLED, Fedora). For this reason we decided to discontinue releases of the Desktop Server product. The most recent release of Desktop Server was on Apr. 21, 2006 and was based on Fedora Core 4. We therefore strongly recommend that customers instead download the latest version of your favorite Linux distro and install the latest Userful Multiplier™, or download Userful Desktop™, the ideal solution for locked-down, multiplied, and managed Linux desktops. We can suggest using SLED (commercial) or Ubuntu (free) or Fedora (free) which work well with Userful Multiplier and support multi-user audio and USB keys. |
