Getting It

Q: How do I get Userful Multiplier?

There are different ways to get Userful Multiplier:

Q: Is downloading the only way to get Userful Multiplier?

No. If you prefer not to download Userful Multiplier software, a trial version on DVD is available from Userful's online store. (NOTE: This DVD also contains Userful Desktop™, our powerful managed desktop solution. You do not need to install Userful Desktop to use Userful Multiplier).

On the DVD, the ZIP files for RPM and DEB formatted Multiplier install packages are in the Userful-Multiplier directory.

Q: How do I install Userful Multiplier?

If your Linux computer came from a Userful Partner, Userful Multiplier may already be installed. Please check the documentation that came with your computer.

If your Linux system does not already have Userful Multiplier installed, we have some simple instructions on how to install it on supported Linux distributions. It's quite easy, and we're always looking for ways to make it even easier for you.

Q: How can I uninstall Userful Multiplier?

If you need to uninstall Userful Multiplier, please follow the User Guide's uninstall procedure.

Q: How do I configure Userful Multiplier?

After installation, you will be prompted to reboot the computer. When it restarts, Userful Multiplier will have you follow a series of steps for basic configuration of your multistation system. Simply follow the straightforward onscreen instructions to get started with Userful Multiplier.

There is also a Control Panel which you can use to configure other aspects of Userful Multiplier.


Q: Where can I find the Userful Control Panel?

If your version of Userful Multiplier is more recent than v.325 , the Control Panel is located in the System > Administration menu of most Linux distros.

With v.325 and earlier versions, different Linux distributions install the Control Panel in different locations. For example, on most Linux distributions, you will find it in Applications > System Tools, whereas on OpenSUSE you can look under Start Menu > Additional Applications. For more details, please see our Control Panel documentation.


Licensing It

Q: Does Userful Multiplier require a license?

Yes. Userful Multiplier will operate as a trial version until you purchase an appropriate license for your Userful system. For more information on how to activate and license Userful Multiplier, check out our Licensing documentation.

Q: Why do I get a black screen with a "trial" message?

This message informs you that Userful Multiplier only has a trial license. It is requesting that you obtain a full license through your Userful Partner/Reseller.

Userful Multiplier is fully functional in trial mode. The key difference is that this message is displayed every once in a while.

Q: How do I obtain my free 2-user license?

Userful's free 2-user version is a simple way to transform your dual-monitor Linux PC into a dual-station PC -- and experience the power of Userful Multiplier.
